A Hindu man, who worked as a grocery store owner, has been killed in Bangladesh, in the second such incident in the last 24 hours in the country. Moni Chakraborty was reportedly attacked with sharp weapons in the Narsingdi district at around 10 pm on Monday. Earlier, a 45-year-old Hindu man named Rana Pratap was shot dead in Jashore district.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who appeared before a court in New York, was asked to identify himself, and he replied in Spanish. He said he was the President of Venezuela and was captured at his home. "I am innocent, I am a decent man, I am still the President," Maduro added, as he pleaded not guilty to narco-terrorism charges.

Amid nationwide anti-regime protests in Iran due to rising inflation and falling currency, India has issued an advisory for its citizens. "In view of recent developments, Indian nationals are advised to avoid non-essential travel to the Islamic Republic of Iran until further notice," the government said. It also advised people to avoid areas of protests or demonstrations.

A person was arrested after an incident was reported at US VP JD Vance's Ohio residence, with reports indicating that windows were also broken. Vance and his family were not at home when the incident happened. A law enforcement official told CNN that an investigation is underway to ascertain whether the person was targeting Vance or his family.

Manchester United have sacked their manager Ruben Amorim after 14 months in charge.  "With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club's leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change," the club said. Amorim was appointed in November 2024 and won 25 of his 63 games in charge of United.

The Bangladesh government has imposed indefinite ban on IPL broadcast in the country. The decision comes after KKR released Bangladesh cricketer Mustafizur Rahman on BCCI's instructions following attacks on minorities in Bangladesh. "No rational reason for such a decision by BCCI is known, and such a decision has pained, saddened and aggrieved people of Bangladesh," the Bangladesh government said.

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the bail pleas of Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam in the 2020 Delhi communal riots case. The Delhi Police had firmly opposed the bail pleas, saying that the riots, which killed 53 people, were a regime change operation. In September 2025, Delhi HC rejected their bail pleas, calling the riots a "premeditated, well-orchestrated conspiracy".
