OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced it has reached an agreement with US Pentagon to deploy its AI models on classified cloud networks. This comes hours after US President Donald Trump blacklisted Anthropic over its refusal to lower its safeguards for mass domestic surveillance and autonomous weapons. However, Pentagon has agreed to same safeguards in its deal with OpenAI, claimed Altman.

Afghanistan conducted strikes on Thursday and Friday in response to Pakistani airstrikes carried out a few days earlier. The strikes hit a military camp near Faizabad in Islamabad, an army cantonment in Nowshera, the Jamrud military colony and targets in Abbottabad.

Strong tremors were felt across Kolkata on Friday after a massive 5.3-magnitude earthquake hit West Bengal. According to USGS, the epicentre was 26 km southeast of West Bengal's Taki. The earthquake struck at around 1:22 pm at a shallow depth of 9.8 km, which likely contributed to the intensity of shaking felt in Kolkata and nearby areas.
