'One Nation, One Election' will be implemented by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the current term as it will table the bill soon, reports quoting sources said. In his Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged political parties to "help realise the One Nation, One Election goal". He also called frequent polls a "hurdle to India's progress".

While addressing AAP workers on Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that he will resign as CM after two days. "I will not sit on the CM's chair until the people give their verdict," he added. Kejriwal had walked out of jail on Friday after he was granted bail in the liquor policy case by the Supreme Court.

The Israeli military said that there was a "high probability" that three hostages found dead last year were mistakenly killed in an Israeli airstrike. Their bodies were recovered on December 14 but they were likely killed in a November airstrike that also killed a senior Hamas commander, Ahmed Ghandour, the military added.
